what I liked about Surratt is he made a lot of nfl caliber catches. Contested. In traffic etc. that's the stuff I like to see in prospects cause it gives me more confidence it'll transition to the league with him. Isn't always true but just my opinion.

id love to get this guy and sign Pearce in FA (from INDY).

Zero chance I'm spending what Pearce is gonna get in FA.

You gotta believe that the 9ers will sign a veteran in free agency. They're not gonna go into the season by just re-signing Kendrick Bourne and drafting a few rookie WR's.

Would love if he ran a 4.41 or better or something and made it justify the 27th pick

If he runs that fast though he is my first choice at #27 as we have the barest of bare cupboards even if we get a FA WR. First choice assuming the likes of Concepcion, Sadiq, and Lemon are all gone.

My vote is Omar Cooper at 27 and Ted Hurst at 58. WR room fixed w a FA WR

I'm torn with going back to back on WR or DL. We need a guard badly too and secondary help.

But to me, WR and DL are our two biggest needs

Can get Kaylen Ruttledge at G at pick 92 - a violent mauler road grader and instant starter. After him there's a decent gap to the next G talent wise.

Zane Durant at 127 and Bud Clark/Zakee Wheatley/Michael Taffee at FS at 133 and an EDGE like Llewellyn/Height at 138 JC Davis at OT at 171.

Trading Mac for an early to mid 2nd would be huge for us.

But even if we assume we get Doubs in FA our WR room still just...

Pearsall (can he stay healthy?)
Doubs
Watkins (question mark)
Cowing (total question mark)
?
?

Thus Shanalynch almost has to draft a WR high with one of our first two picks or both.

Aiyuk really really screwed us

I'm not sure what he will cost but either we need to pay someone to play at a high lvl or let the young guys do it and develop. We can't rock with older slower receivers the way we have been. Need someone who can beat man consistently.

im hoping we let guys like Watkins get on the field and plays well. Maybe we will get a guy like Surratt, and then maybe a FA WR who can beat man. We gotta do something.

I don't view our secondary as a problem. At least not the corners. Pass rush and safety are much bigger issues than CB.

honestly our DBs played pretty damn well given the circumstances. 0 pass rush? Yeah you're going to get open. These guys can only cover for a few seconds before it's bad.

Green has been in and out of the line up with mental errors. The Safeties don't make plays and miss a lot of tackles. Hopefully Morris can put his stamp on this secondary. Even Lenoir has made some mistakes but the lack of pass rush will do that to a good secondary.

im with tankle here i think our CB did a great job they had bad S play and no pass rush they actually played really good imo

Exactly. Hate to say it but neither of our safeties have the football IQ to excel. They don't play as a unit, they tend to react instead of anticipate, they don't make many plays, tend to take poor angles, go for the knock out hit instead of the sure tackle. They are a weakness.

Same. I don't think I'd ever spend big money on WRs in free agency. There's always good WRs in every draft

Good thing we are two slots ahead of them at the end of the 1st round. Was hoping to trade back to the early 2nd round and draft him but a sub 4.45 40 and we may have to select him at #27 assuming Concepcion and Boston are gone.

He's also the Shanahansiest WR in the draft no?

I think it's either Cooper or Boston at 27 for now - combine could change things obv.

Yeah the Rams have 2 first round picks with the first being #13

i'm a big fan of Cooper but if they use the 13th overall on him then I'm ok with it.
