Military academy players are required to serve 2 years active duty before they can play in the NFL. Between 2019 and 2024 that rule was waived but starting this year it was changed.

Limited Exceptions: The Department of Defense may authorize up to three cadets or midshipmen per service academy to defer active duty for professional sports, though they must still meet stringent requirements.

Yes it's possible but what are those stringent requirements?

I'm not certain but I believe it has to do with still being required for the selected reserves. Meaning; he could be activated during wartime.

I honestly think that the round in which these guys get drafted heavily determines the "limited exceptions"

I looked it up. It is up to the Secretary of Defense to make the final decision. Up to 3 players from each academy can apply. They're required to participate in recruiting efforts during the off season and are still required to serve active duty when their career ends.
Definitely need to replace a relatively useless Kevin Givens with a dynamic, quick DT who can rush the passer. Besides Robinson and Gill-Howard, Zane Durant from Penn State also fits the bill.

I said it kind of in jest...but the fact that 49ers apparently have the most registered republicans on the team we know Donald will look out for them. Hopefully when he's out of office whoever comes in allows the kid to play(assuming we draft him)

If he goes somewhere else...send him to Japan.
Can he stop the run?

I wanted Willie Lampkin last year to develop as a backup center and a goal line fullback.

Who cares? It wouldn't be his job. Bring him in for nickle and let him feast.

I was looking at replacements for Kevin Givens. A twitched up hyper athletic disruptive designated pass rusher and was always coming back to Zane Durant. But the more I see of this guy the more I like.

If we can get a speed guy off the edge like R Mason Thomas, Cashius Howell or Joshua Josephs in round 2 and one of Zane Durant, Landon Robinson or Skyler Gill Howard in round 4 we will be in good shape.

The way Robinson holds up vs double teams he most definitely can stop the run.
