Yeah, some people said 10th overall for Lawrence and what else? They thought a 2nd/3rd day pick should have been included especially they know the Giants didn't have leverage here.

Yah no way would I have traded away a top 15 pick for Lawrence let alone top 10. Giants now have a huge hole in the middle of their defense.

Way way too much and he wanted $30m a yr which is only $1.75m a yr less than what Chris Jones makes and he ain't Chris Jones level IMO but some fans online are mad we didn't trade for him

But remember we didnt visit at all with Pearsall no contact anywhere and that's who we wanted. So Im mentally prepared for a surprise pick of a name we haven't heard us connected to.

Shanahan thinks he and Lynch are sneaky like that.

I remember hearing that they also tried to trade out of that pick. I'm not sure they went into that draft expecting to draft Pearsall at 31, but I do remember Lynch talking about the rising cost of the position playing a role in the pick.

I think there are a lot of parallels between 24 and this year. I think it's extremely likely they end up in a similar situation next week with no trade back opportunities. Also, I think it's to be expected that the rising cost of premium positions will once again factor into the pick, which means it's likely going to be a tackle, edge or WR at 27.

Honestly, IMO, it seems like they are on the verge of trading him during the draft. The same way the 9ers got him. Generally I think La Canfora speaks outta his ass, but he does have a point. If TW situation isn't resolved before the draft, we could possibly see TW moved. It makes sense, TW is really the only trade bait they really have to acquire a pick or two. And 9ers need more picks they aren't just gonna sit outta the 5th, 6th or 7th rounds.

Any team who acquires him NEEDS to have at least $33.07M in cap room to just acquire him, the only teams who have that kind of cap room are Tennessee, Washington, LA Chargers, Arizona, NY Jets & New England, and I don't see many, if any of these teams trading for him, maybe NE, but I doubt it, so a trade isn't likely IMO, not during the draft anyway, and eating cap room makes zero sense when they're trying to save room not eat it.

Couldn't teams create cap space to fit Williams in and can't they work out a deal with Williams to soften the cap hit?

I watched him a little bit at the Senior Bowl. At first I thought he reminded of Cowing, but I quickly realized he's a better deep threat than Cowing.

But man, I hate that they still need to fill this speed guy. It really sucks that they're not getting anything out of Cowing(or Watkins yet). So many wasted picks in the last few drafts.

Someone mentioned Barham being the end of Luke Gifford. That makes sense because if Raheem is going to build onto what Saleh did with 5-man fronts, Barham could be the starting Sam LB, and get after the quarterback in nickel/moneydowns. With Greenlaw back and the possible addition of Barham, that's a lot of violence and physicality infused into the front 7. Got to love that idea.

dude is an ass kicker vs the run and can bring the juice on those money downs.

At this point, I want to try and move down in the first at all costs. Get an extra couple picks to be flexible enough to come away with Barham another DE (someone like Crawford), IOL , WR and S depth.

Buddy was up to 251 at his pro-day, so he's for sure bigger than I thought.

He will almost certainly be there at 58. I still would trade down to 65-80 as I think he would be there as well and if isnt Crawford should still be there and we just take him.

But if Lynch loves the guy he never trades back more than a spot or two and will just take him even if it's a reach.

A guy that most people wouldn't have put on the 49ers radar.

Is Shanny cooking something up?

I like him

Judging by the top 30 visits, honestly seems like Lynch and Shanahan will take the BPA outta Tackle or WR @ 27. Edge seems to be the 2nd round pick judging by the top 30 visits.

Iheananchor
Lomu
Proctor

Cooper Jr.
Boston
Concepcion

Lawrence
Height
Barham

And if so ... I wish I could see their board on how they all rank in order combining the WR/OT

Tate ran it. Lemon ran it. Cooper Jr ran it. And KC from his film can easily tell he's not a 4.55 guy or worse and speed isnt one of the concerns about KC. One of Boston's red flags IS speed and also separation. Should be trying to assuage those concerns and not just say i dont have any injuries preventing me from running but hey just look at my gps.

Weak sauce.

And I still like him as a prospect. He may play faster than his slow 40 (assumed) would indicate but that bumps him down at least a half round for me.

So still makes no sense. If his speed on a film is a red flag, why would a 40 time assuage your concern lol.

You drafting him to line up and run a 40?

Also, Lemon did not run at the combine. And speed is a concern. Effing coward.

Good find NY ... yeah haven't heard good things about Cyrus Allen just never really looked into him. Could present really good value in the 4th round.
