2026 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

HA right on cue

I've only watched both of the Utah guys sparingly, but man, I'll say this about Lomu: the kid can scoooot. He really explodes out his stance. I've heard he struggles with power, which makes me . But damn, this kid has sweet feet, and I saw some nifty hand technique. The lack of size and struggles with power are gross, tho.

Lomu seems like a meh and hope pick. I trust Brad Graham a lot on his OL evaluations and he's not seeing it with Lomu either. Wouldn't hate if he's the pick and hope he's able to take to NFL coaching and give us a legit OT but feels like the ceiling is low and I really want us to nail this pick.

Love Delp. I do think hes worth a late second round pick. But if that's what it costs, id want the niners to spend elsewhere.

Dallen Bentley
Matt Hibner
Carsen Ryan

All later round options. Not as good as Delp, but more cost appropriate given the other team needs, imo.

Of course if Delp is simply BPA at 58 (not likely) then you take him and you do so happily.

Everyone crying for an OT but I hope to god we don't take one just to take one. If they feel he's not worth a 1st rd selection and pass on someone who's better at dline or wr it's going to be another 1st rd miss like they've been doing a lot. Then I see Lomu struggles with power that's just McGlinchey all over again, there's a reason it's rare legit OT's get drafted in the late 1st. All the good ones go early

He's a redshirt sophomore. Lots of room to grow and get stronger. Some of these "stronger" guys are 6 year seniors and weren't even on anyones radar their 3rd year in college. This is why i like Lomu and other guys who have showcased NFL ability in their first 3 years on college rather than finally having their breakout year 5 or 6 years in college.

im with you also i dont see the need for an OT (unless Trent isnt coming back for sure) i think LG is a need and C can be upgraded. If we want a developmental OT I like getting World later in the draft has all the physical tools in the world and can handle power and speed rushers and is super athlewthic. Had a torn ACL in January during the semifinals so wont be able to play in rookie year. He does need to cleam up technique a bit as he had a ton of penalties.
Height vs Lomu from my boy Voch. Crazy to see this dude with a huge youtube channel. I used to hang out with this guy in a Texas high school football facebook page and talk ball like ten years ago.

Voch is really good at what he does too. You could be next!

slow as f**k , but apparently a good fit for 49ers

Stribling, Landon Robinson, Onyedim and Heidenreich all mentioned

inject that "don't draft TEs in the first round" in my veins

I don't think the 9ers need to worry about this kind of analytics picking at 27 this year but yea, if they were picking at #7 would a RB be a smart move

Do it!

Also I don't get the Lomu hype… At this point draft analysts are just searching for somewhere to put him and have no clue what SF is gonna do, so they just mock him to SF. Dude is raw as a pass blocker, lacks that ass kicking attitude, lacks core strength. I get the athletic upside, I can't invest in that on a team that needs players now.

Will Anderson getting $50M per 👀 that's why you draft EDGE/WR/OT/QB in the first….the value money wise is insane. Getting that position on a cheap deal for 5 yrs is a huge.

LBer/IOL/S/RB/TE are positions that you can fill in later and consistently find in FA at half the price as these other positions.
Carsen Ryan was at UCLA when Chip was still there, he recruited him and played him some his freshman year where he used him much like an H back..... dude is a freak athlete for his size/strength, I didnt follow him after he transferred but I guess he did OK at BYU.... someone to watch. He's not a big catch radius get the rebound type of TE, but he is very physical and a good blocker, runs well after the catch.
