The fact the NFL did not release any other emails would seem to leave the league vulnerable to Gruden's charge of a witch hunt, not that his speech was no reprehensible in itself.

Was the source ever named? If so I didn't realize.

No source, only "leaked" to the press. Still, the NFL controlled the information thus was responsible for it getting out. Gruden will get paid.

NFL investigated the WFT.
They fined them $10m.
Then Dan Snyder sued Bruce Allen for $10m.

Dan Snyder's lawyers f**ked up. lol

Gruden's name is redacted in most of the emails filed in court, replaced with "ESPN Personality." He was employed by the network as the "Monday Night Football" analyst before rejoining the Raiders in 2018.

However, Gruden's name and personal email address aren't redacted — apparently by mistake — in an exchange with Allen from November 2017 discussing a news story about the NFL potentially keeping teams in their locker rooms during the national anthem because of players kneeling on the field in protest during the song.

NFL knew about all of it and did nothing until they had to.
Hope he wins it

I'm just excited for discovery. I'm hoping some f**ked up s**t gets leaked. I'm all for dirtbags working in the shadows getting a spotlight cast on them.

Two things. One, the release of anything involving Gruden while investigating Dan Snyder of the WFT was wrong.

NFL deserves to be sued for that and Gruden is right to sue them.

Two, his language used in the emails regarding the NFLPA President at the time was abhorrent and there is no place for it.

Has nothing to do with Woke, unless you deem the language he used as appropriate, in which case you out yourself as an a*****e.

I don't even remember what he said so I had to google. And from what i saw the "language" that Gruden used isn't very much different than what most guys use around their friends or behind closed doors, which he did with those emails, and calling people a holes on forums isn't going to change that. Still, at worse he should've been fined and made a public apology statement for the Michael Sam comments. Trying to banish him from the league and the Raiders firing him (comments were made before they gave him that lucrative deal) was uncalled for. 4-5 years later he's still a very popular football personality , and the Raiders who were trending up with Gruden went right back to being a laughing stock as soon as he was fired. Bad decision then, bad decision now.

"This is where it gets ugly for Park Avenue. Unless Mark Davis and the league cut a check with a ridiculous number of zeros, we are heading to discovery"

Wait how is Mark to blame for this?

Huh? Who's making excuses? It may be ugly, but it's just how society is, whether I agree or disagree with it is not the topic. Gruden isn't the first person to call his boss a p***y over email/text/etc and definitely won't be the last. Guys talk like that all the time, especially when alcohol is involved. I agree he probably should've been punished, especially for the homophobic comments. But outright banishing from the nfl aged horribly, as predicted . Nobody remembers or cares about comments from over 10 years ago, Gruden is still successful, and the Raiders are still a joke.
