Early Mock Draft - Jennings and Mac depart

Sign: DE A.J. Epenesa and DT David Onyemata
Lose: Brian Robinson, Jauan Jennings, Mac Jones, Spencer Burford, Jordan Elliott, Skyy Moore, Kalia Davis, Luke Gifford
Receive: Pick 44 from Jets for Mac Jones
Resign: A few guys like Tonges, Bartch, Okuayinonu and other bottom of roster guys

27. Emmanuel Pregnon, OG, Oregon. Vega Ioane is selected in 20 to 25 range, so 49ers select the other elite OG in the draft. They will probably resign Ben Bartch and both will complete for the starting role.
44. Germie Bernard, WR, Alabama. Versatile WR with good speed and YAC.
58. Nicholas Singleton, RB, Penn State. 49ers once again go for a day two RB. Fast and powerful RB who will need to improve in pass protection. Competes with Guerendo and Jordan James for #2 back and kick return duties.
92. Harold Perkins, LB, LSU. Speedy LB with pass rush ability. Could be SAM or WILL and replace Gifford's special teams role.
127. Eric Rivers, WR, Georgia Tech. Completes with Cowing for last WR spot and punt returner duties.
133. Sam Roush, TE, Stanford. Blocking TE who hopefully can be a better asset in the run game than Luke Farrell.
138. Albert Regis, DL, Texas A&M. Add an additional run stuffing DT for depth.
171. Max Iheanchor, OT, Arizona State. May not drop this far as he is athletic but still very raw.
196. TJ Metcalf, S, Tennesse. Cousin of DK and has potenial to compete at either safety spot.
246. Adam Randall, RB, Clemson. Like Guerendo, he is a recent WR-to-RB conversion. Big back for short-yardage but could also be a dependable receiver out of the backfield. Upside is Jordan Mason with pass catching skills.

Not a bad draft. Not sure why the 2 running backs. No free safety to help with covering the back of the field. Would expect a home run swing with the coming restructure of Trent Williams and possibly Nick bosa saving around $30 million. I have the 49ers also trading Mac Jones for a 2nd rd pick. I also think the 49ers should trade that pick to the jaguars for Brian Thomas Jr. Inexpensive WR and still have 3 yrs under rookie contract.

To me it looks like the 49ers aren't fully committed to Guerendo based on his playing time this year, so I grabbed a 7th round RB for competition and maybe he bumps Guerendo off the roster.

That makes sense. Only thing is that KS doesn't play rookies. Jordan James could have helped this past year but was never allowed to play.
We'll get some clarity on OT Max Iheanachor as Senior Bowl ramps up. Some "experts" have him in the Top 100 and others in the 2nd 100. He seems like a good developmental fit for the 49ers but he may go a lot earlier than I have above.

"...System versatility favors zone-heavy attacks where his natural glide and second-level comfort shine..."

"...is a relative newcomer to football and his lack of experience shows up in unrefined footwork, inconsistent leverage and some glaring losses..."

Senior Bowl Notes:
"...former soccer and basketball player, Iheanachor's strong hands and light feet make him a prime candidate to shine during one-on-one pass-rush drills. He needs to get stronger as a run blocker, but Iheanachor is one of the best pass blockers in this year's class. He's viewed as a middle-round pick but could rise into the top 100..."
