The floor is two 2nds? Not a chance we get that. We would be lucky to get a 3rd.

Season after season, I watch the NFL Draft hoping the 49ers would select a player I feel would make an impact.
As it plays out (more than it doesn't), the 49ers don't select the player I had in mind, or even worse, another team
jumps the 49ers in a trade-up, and selects that player.
Seeing as most teams use the Draft Value Chart, or a facsimile thereof, why not include Mac as added value to
lessen the cost of a trade-up, to preserve as much draft capital as possible, and then move up in the draft.
With Chicago losing to the Rams, the 49ers are locked into pick #27. I'm not saying that they can't get a decent
player at #27, but moving up to the middle of Round 1 would be a better option, if trading Mac is in their plans.
Not a bad idea but then you are placing all your trust on the ability of Lynch and Kyle to nail the pick. If they botch the pick then poof, you've essentially given away Mac for free instead of trading him for an experienced player.
I get where you're coming from, and it's a legit concern. Sometimes you just have to have faith.
The NY Jets have two 1st Round Picks: #2 & #16. Who do they have at QB at the moment,
better than Mac ... also, who could they draft that would be immediately better than Mac Jones !?
It wouldn't hurt for Lynch / Shanahan to contact Darren Mougey (Jets GM) to see if they have an
interest in swapping picks. I doubt they'd give up their #2, but Mac Jones and the 49ers #27 for
their #16, might be doable.
Not a prediction but the Jets are drafting a QB IMO....they don't need to invest so much in landing a Mac when they can get a transitional guy without any draft investment.

As a friendly back-and-forth, I'm curious who you see in the upcoming draft, as a transitional guy.
There are (at times), a surprise selection ... but I don't see a transitional QB coming out in 2026
that the Jets can draft at #2 or #16.

That should get it done. We need the picks and an extra 2026 3rd should get us a really good player.

What part of we totally suck with 3rd round picks to people not get? (I'll give you Fred Warner but he's like the only home run 3rd rounder in about 8 years.)
