FC Dallas Look Set To Miss Out On 2021 Leagues Cup Participation

The US Major League Soccer side FC Dallas are not expected to be competing in the league’s 2021 cup competition. Because of the huge impact the outbreak of the coronavirus brought upon everyone around the world, the MLS will be looking to bounce back fully from the harsh effects heading into the new season and preparations will start to be put in place in the summer and during the pre-season.

As far as Major League Soccer is concerned, every participating club is still awaiting their fixture schedules ahead of the new season so they can go ahead and speed up their plans before the new campaign kicks off. The country’s national teams are also in the waiting as they are also looking out for the dates of their schedules to aid their preparations for their own upcoming competitions and sporting activities.

The US Open Cup is set to begin in May, while there will also be plans made to ensure that the second placement of the League’s Cup, alongside the Liga MX teams competition will go ahead in the summer. It is already looking like it will be a big and busy summer in the league following the mapped-out plans for the bee campaign.

According to the Athletic, only eight teams will secure participation in the League Cup this season and one of those clubs that will not be competing in the Cup is FC Dallas. They will miss out on the Cup competition because they were unable to make it to the top four teams in the Western Conference leave to seal passage to the CONCACAF Champions League.

Although the date for the commencement of the tournament is yet to be announced, the eight participating teams have already been confirmed. They are Sporting Kansas City, New York City FC, Orlando City, Toronto FC, Seattle Sounders, Minnesota United, the New York Red Bulls, and the Colorado Rapids.
