PULISIC REPLACES DONOVAN AS YOUNGEST CAPTAIN

Chelsea-bound forward Christian Pulisic became the youngest captain in the modern history of the United States Men National team when he was given the armband during a friendly game against Italy in Genk, Belgium.

Pulisic became the USMNT youngest captain ever at 20 years, 63 days replacing legendary striker Landon Donovan who was just 22 years, 220 days when he was handed the captain’s armband in a World Cup qualifiers’ game against El Salvador in 2009. Zlatan Ibrahimovic Happy In MLS

New LA Galaxy player Zlatan Ibrahimovic said that he is happy for his MLS start with his new team. He said that he made his debut in difficult condition while his team was losing and he is glad that they could manage to win following his entry.

He said that it is always a nice feeling to score a goal and it is even better when it is the first game for your club. He said that he was confident that he could score a goal because he was feeling well ever since he has joined the Major League Soccer. Seattle Sounders to sign Erceg

It is reported that MLS team Seattle Sounders is interested in signing Croatian winger Ante Erceg for a reported fee of $7.1 million. Erceg currently plays for Croatian top side Hajduk Split as a winger and has been one of the best scorers and creative player in the Croatian league last season.

Ante Erceg who is currently aged 28 years old has spent most of his career in Croatia except a six-month spell where he played in Turkey.

Sigi Schmid Wants Leaders to Help LA Galaxy Recover

LA Galaxy manager Sigi Schmid claims that the players need to rise up and show plenty of leadership skills in order to recover from the mammoth poor form that has engulfed the club over the last few months.


Curt Onalfo was the manager of the club when the new campaign began, but he was recently sacked after a string of poor results. Former Seattle Sounders manager Sigi Schmid was brought to the club as a replacement, but his arrival has not been met with a substantial rise in the results. The team recently fell to a third consecutive defeat in the match against Columbus Crew.

Former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole was sent off in controversial circumstances. Even video referee could not save Cole from playing on. This decision had a massive impact on the game. LA Galaxy in Europe suffering a heavy defeat against Columbus Crew, and it means that LA Galaxy have been unable to win any match in the last nine. Galaxy last won a league match back in May. Schmid on LA Galaxy defeat

LA Galaxy head coach SigiSchmid has stated that he is disappointed with the defeat of his team against Portland Timbers and he feels that the team could have down better.


He congratulated Portland Timbers for having been the best team on the day, and he feels that his players did not give their best on the pitch. He said that their opponent was the better team as from the kick-off and that they struggled to gain control of the game.

However, SigiSchmid believes that LA Galaxy had chances in the first half and unfortunately they did not take it. He said that despite the fact that Portland Timbers were the better side, the complexion of the game could have changed if they scored the goal first.
