MLS: NYRB EYEING RETURN TO FORM

New York Red Bulls (NYRB) would be hoping to regain form when they entertain Toronto FC in an MLS football clash at the Red Bull Arena in New York this weekend. GerhardStruber and his players take on the Reds at home with the hope of getting back to winning ways after their two-match winning run in all competitions ended with the 2-0 loss to hosts Charlotte FC in an MLS football duel a week ago. The result left New York Red Bulls in fourth position on the Eastern Conference standings.

New York Red Bulls missed out on the opportunity to close the gap on the teams at the top of the Eastern Conference with the disappointing result recorded against Charlotte FC. It was their second successive away defeat in MLS football this season after winning their first five away fixtures. They are now winless on the road in their last three attempts. New York Red Bulls were missing players due to injury or national team commitment and they conceded late in each half to succumb to a well deserved defeat at the hands of Charlotte FC. New York Red Bulls managed just seven shots during the game, which is very low as they ended a run of 10 or more shots in a game for 27 successive MLS football outings.

Toronto FC ended a run of six winless games on the MLS football scene with the 3-2 win over Chicago Fire in their last game. They have a poor record in fixtures away to New York Red Bulls in MLS football. They have won just two of their last 18 league games at the home of New York Red Bulls and they have lost six of those games by a margin of three or more goals.

Manager Bob Bradley would be hoping his team can continue the positive result recorded against Chicago Fire against New York Red Bulls later in the week.
